It’s been a crazy summer and so much has gone on over the past few months. In April I met someone on the volleyball courts who caught my eye. We’ve been dating on and off for several months and it’s been an amazing ride. I learn something new about our relationship and about myself every day. Most of the time I learn things that are helpful and other times I learn things that I could do without. We’ve experienced a lot so far and I only hope that we will experience so much more, as friends and as a couple.

I started playing poker during one of our “breaks” and I learned that I’m actually not half bad at it. For the first month I was ranked 10 out of over a thousand players in the local area. It’s a free Texas Hold’em Poker that is played at many of our local bars. Mostly I just went because I was trying to get my mind off the break-up, but I soon realized that I had a chance to win a seat at a WSOP. It’s amazing how many times you can piss off the locals because you have some beginners luck. The best part is winning and calling out your cards by saying “yeah but I have a Flush Straight”. Boy did that get a rise out of some of them. LMAO.

Since I don’t have any children of my own it’s safe to say that although I love my niece and nephew, just one solid day in is enough to remind me to use protection. There’s nothing like a screeching child (even happy screeches) to remind you that birth control is the best option (IMO).  Of course I didn’t go this family staycation alone, I invited Dominic (the boyfriend) to enjoy these magical moments together. Nothing says I love you like “honey would you mind spending your days off with me and my WHOLE family?” I’ve gotta give the man credit, he took it all in stride and never complained once. He was well rewarded with a ticket to Universal Studios in which he was able to get his stress and frustration out on the roller coasters instead. Granted the lines for the rides may have made him a little more stressed in the interim, but overall it was a great experience.

So that was my summer in a nutshell. I’m sure there will be plenty more things to talk about soon enough, but I just wanted to catch you all up on my summer. Hopefully everyone is spending time with their family and loved ones. We have to take the time to try new things and spend time with the people we care about the most.

So here we are on our way to Volleyball and I'm annoying the piss out of Courtnnie because I can't stop talking about this guy that we met out there. Poor Courtnnie. She had just started a new job and here I am going on and on about all the"obvious" signs that he's into me. (he's completely not into me by the way)

Remember the movie "He's just not that into you"? Yeah I've probably seen it four or five times and yet I always cringe when the character Gigi (Ginnifer Goodwin) does anything that makes her look desperate or needy. The time where she leans in for a kiss because she was up cleaning the guys  house after a party... Oh my Geez that was worse then watching a horror flick. I usually have to turn my head or mute that part when it comes up because it puts chills down my spine.

Funny thing though... I may not like to watch what Gigi does, but I probably do some of what she does without meaning to. I giggle and flirt and laugh way to hard at things when I'm around someone I like. Everything becomes a joke because I forget that I have a college degree and that I'm 30 years old going on 40. It amazes me how stupid I act. Sadly it's completely unintentional.

I suppose I'm lucky though because we only see each other at volleyball and I don't have to know how to tie my own shoes there because we don't wear any. And the only thing I have to remember to do is hit the flying object that is coming towards my face. On the bright side if he does like me back then we only have one place to go and that's up, because I look my worst when I play volleyball. The best piece of clothing that I wear is my bra and that's hidden beneath a tight sweat soaked T-shirt (gotta hold those puppies down somehow).

Well, I don't have much more to tell you on the subject other then we should all be praising Courtnnie for being such a good friend and listening to me make a fool of myself on the courts. She's such a good friend that she will even make a fool of herself just so I don't look so bad out there doing it on my own. Way to look out. Everyone deserves a Courtnnie in there lives. :)

If you have any suggestions on how to land the perfect man please let me know. I'm 30 years old and the only thing that I can land is a job and a perfect serve.

Sometimes you just can't beat them. I woke up in the worst mood this morning, which makes sense since I only got about 3 hours of sleep. I had work homework to do, outdoor chores to do and errands to run.

I kept telling myself "this sucks... I have all this crap to do and I'm dead ass exhausted and then I have the week from hell coming up". Then I thought to myself... life isn't all that bad. My cat hasn't been sick for at least 3 days, my income taxes look good this year (thanks M.M.) and I have a pretty healthy family that loves one another.

So all this made me get my butt in gear and it ended up that not only did I get everything done, but I was able to get 3 hours of hard core volleyball in. That's my favorite thing to do with friends, especially when there's a cool breeze on an 85 degree day. Sometimes I wish that I lived up north and other times I couldn't imagine being locked in a house trying to stay warm for 5 months out of the year. I hope all my friends in the north are staying warm. You always have a place to stay down here when you can't take the cold any longer. :-)
