It has been way to long since I've blogged and I want to get started again. I'm pulling out all the stops and going full steam ahead. There's so much to get you all caught up on so bare with me.
First things first... In August 2015 I became a vegan. Yup, a vegan. No more pictures of steak dinners or late night runs for sushi rolls. I read a book by Sonja Faruqi called Project Animal Farm for no other reason than I had some extra Audible points stacking up in my account. When I started the book I didn't really know what to expect. Half way through the book (and half way through the night) I realized that I had been allowing myself to be taken by our society. |
During the time of becoming a vegan I also realized that if society could have been so wrong on the meat aspect of life, what else could I have taken for granted. After really diving into my history with men and my aspirations for my future relationships I realized that Polyamory was exactly what I was looking for.
For those that don't know what polyamory or polyamorous means you can click here for a vague definition. While I don't see very many people agreeing with me about this choice of lifestyle, I don't really care. It's something I've known for a while, but I just didn't have a term for it until I did further research. It's not that I don't believe in monogomy, its just I don't believe it's for me. I've dated a lot of cheaters that got caught cheating instead of telling me and I always hated them for that. Once I realized that I could have a relationship without the worry of lying |
I also find that love isn't a finite number or amount. You can have love for people in many different aspects of life and to share your love without worry is definitely something I'm interested in. Just because I love "man A" doesn't mean that I love "man B" less. It might just mean that I love each one differently or for different reasons. Or maybe not, maybe I love them both for the same reasons but now I just have twice the amount.
Don't get me wrong... I still want to have a family and kids someday, but it would be nice to share that family lifestyle with more than one person. Crazy right! Yeah well, I never claimed to be normal.
I think that's enough catching you up for one post. There will be more to come very soon! Oh and below you will see some books that I highly recommend if you're interested in this blog.
