With the Fit for We Mommy & Me Water Bottles they are made they are safe to use: Non-toxic, made with durable Eastman Tritan, a clear BPA free co-polyester, tested to be FDA safe for use with beverages. I was recently invited to try out the Fit for We Mommy & Me water bottles and they sent a pair to my house. I loved the color of them, because they are as bright as bright can be. The first thing that I noticed was there was no "bad" plastic smell. Anyone who knows me knows that I'm a FREAK about plastic and I've taken some bad smelling plastic back to the store immediately. No plastic food container for me either. Yuck! With the Fit for We Mommy & Me Water Bottles they are made they are safe to use: Non-toxic, made with durable Eastman Tritan, a clear BPA free co-polyester, tested to be FDA safe for use with beverages. Shatter Proof. Top Rack Dishwasher Safe. All good things when it comes to any item that is holding a liquid beverage or food item. I started to look over the entire water bottle at all the little gadgets on it. The locking mechanism seems like a good idea, but it may not work for young kids. The push button flip top also seems like a good idea because it would keep the liquids inside until you push it to open. The one thing I noticed with the push button flip top is the plastic mechanism inside has some open areas (crevasses) that could get dirty or harboring germs if you don't wash it appropriately. Although if you're only using the Fit for We Mommy & Me bottle for water than you shouldn't have any issues. I liked the screen inside the bottle because I can put lemon or cucumber slices in my water and put the screen back in so I don't get any seeds or anything when I'm drinking. For the kiddos, it's great to keep them from swallowing or choking on ice pieces. The latch on the back seems like a great tool if you have a stroller or a belt that you can attach the Fit for We Mommy & Me bottle to. It would make it easy to hold onto. I really like the idea for this type of water bottle and I think Fit for We Mommy & Me Water Bottle really does have a good product. As soon as we gave the bottle to Savannah she started smiling and trying to drink from it. You could tell that she was excited that she had the same bottle as her mommy. The cost on this item is a little high, but they claim to be shatter proof and if that's the case it should outlast almost any water bottle that I have in the house. You can buy the pair of these Fit for We Mommy & Me Water Bottles for about $30.00 on Amazon.

I absolutely love everything make-up and skin care. When I was sent the Ultra Youth Eye Gel to do a review I couldn't wash my face fast enough to try it out. I opened up the package and I must admit that I wasn't impressed by the packaging. The label and container didn't look very sophisticated, but over the years I've realized that it's not what's on the outside it's what's on the inside that counts. Ultra Youth Eye Gel is sulfate and alcohol free. They use organic cooling agents that relieve and relax the skin, without aggravating the eyes. When I opened the lid of the Ultra Youth Eye Gel I noticed a strong smell of cucumber which was delightful. It was a clean and fresh smell. I pumped some onto the tips of my fingers and I started to massage it into my skin underneath my eyes. It went on very smoothly and much like a gel or aloe. As I was spreading it onto my skin I realized that one full pump gets you enough to smooth it onto more than just your eyes and cheeks. I ended up spreading it around my forehead and around my jaw line. I could feel it tightening a little. It reminded me of putting aloe on without the stickiness. I wasn't sure if I liked the feeling on my face and even though it says you could use it and then apply make-up I didn't know if I'd like to put make-up on top of this tight feeling. I put some more on before I went to bed and when I woke up I definitely noticed a difference. First of all, it's about that time of the month ehhh hemmm that we women have acne issues. For the last few days I was annoyed by some bumps that weren't rising or going away. When I woke up they had risen to the top and by mid day they were healing. YAY! I looked at the ingredients of the Ultra Youth Eye Gel and I noticed that it had so many naturally acidic properties too it that it actually helped my acne. I'm not sure if that was their plan when they made this stuff, but I'm a happy camper. I was so happy with the results from just one night that I decided to take them on their word about applying make-up and I did it that evening. Ultra Youth Eye Gel didn't bother my make-up at all. If anything it seemed to make it a little easier to get my make-up off at the end of the night. I'm planning on using Ultra Youth Eye Gel for a while to see what other capabilities it has.
We all have our problem areas that we wish we could work on or have a quick fix for, right? Well one of mine has always been my teeth. I always envied people who had bright white chompers. While I'm lucky that I don't have really yellow teeth, I always knew that mine could be brighter. When I was asked to do a review on Brilliant HD - Deluxe Teeth Whitening I jumped at the chance. I couldn't wait to get a product like this to see if whitening could really be done at home. I've tried the Crest White Strips and those didn't work. I've tried whitening toothpaste and that never worked. I even tried home remedies with baking soda and that never seemed to get my teeth very white either. Let's see if the Brilliant HD Deluxe Teeth Whitening works. Here is what you get. In your Brilliant HD Deluxe Teeth Whitening Kit you get a printed guide on the outside of the box that grades how yellow your teeth are, two syringes filled with clear gel which is used as the whitening agent, a syringe filled with blue gel which is used to seal in the whitening and keep your teeth from being sensitive, a small tip to add to the syringe for controlled coverage and a case with two clear mouth pieces in it. After reading the directions the first thing I had to do was put the two mouth pieces in VERY HOT water. It makes the mouth pieces flexible so they'll form to your teeth. This only took a few minute and I could actually see the indentations that my teeth had made in the mouth piece. After forming both of them to your teeth you're ready to add the clear gel. Before I started to add the gel to the mouth piece I wanted to check the grid to see how my teeth compare. Even after I cut the grid out of the box, I felt that this was hard to do. It was hard to tell where I ranked on the grid because the yellowing color was printed and more vibrant than the dull color of my teeth. It didn't seem accurate. Next I added the gel to the mouth piece as they instructed. I used a Q-tip to add the Brilliant HD Deluxe Teeth Whitening gel to both the top and bottom mouth piece. For the first time I used the product I only did it for 5 minutes as the box instructed. I didn't notice any sensitivity at all. When I was finished with the clear gel I washed out the mouth pieces and added the blue gel as instructed. The blue gel tasted a lot like fluouride or minty toothpaste. I left it in my mouth for about 8 minutes and then I took it out and washed out my mouth pieces. I rinsed out my mouth from the blue gel and when I looked in the mirror I was expecting to see results. All I saw was that my teeth were a little more shiny. I did this same routine for a couple of days, but I ended up leaving the Brilliant HD Deluxe Teeth Whitening clear gel in my mouth for about 10 minutes instead of 5. The box says to do this if you don't have sensitivity. I started to see a difference in the color of my teeth by day 3. I also noticed a difference in the sensitivity of my teeth. I didn't have any sensitivity while I was doing the whitening or even shortly after, but about 4 or 5 hours later I was definitely having some discomfort with my teeth. My teeth were becoming sensitive to hot and cold and just aching in general. I decided to put more blue gel in the mouth pieces and let that sit on my teeth for a bit one night and that seemed to help. Although I had sensitivity I am pleased as punch to see the difference in color from beginning to end with my teeth. Keep in mind this is only 3 days worth of using the Brilliant HD Deluxe Teeth Whitening Kit. I'm pretty sure that if I keep using it, I'm going to see an even bigger difference. The only wish that I had was that Brilliant HD Deluxe Teeth Whitening added more of the blue gel to their kit. Other than that I would say that this product is pretty good if you're looking for an at home kit. Most kits that I've seen are around $50 - $80.00 and even this one sits at $69.00 if you go to their website, but if you go to Amazon you can get it for about $35.00 as of December 21, 2014. My Amazon link below should reflect current pricing. Good luck! I was asked to review an Auto Seat Back Protector by Dot&Dot and I said bring it on. I may not have little ones in my car very often, but when I do they scratch up the back of my seat. My Hyundai Tucson has the half leather seats half fabric and the back of the seat has a plastic guard. When I bought my vehicle I thought having a hard plastic back would be great, but I didn't realize how easily it would be to scratch the plastic. That being said, I was super excited to get the Auto Seat Back Protector to help relieve my pain from getting anymore scratches. The Auto Seat Back Protector came in a thick plastic zippered bad, folded up nicely. When I opened it up and unfolded it I noticed that the new smell was minimal. Most of the time when I get new items that are out of fabric or plastic the smell is so strong I have to air it out before putting it in a small or closed space (ie. my car). The Auto Seat Back Protector has two snaps on it. The smaller strap and snap is the top and it goes around the headrest. The larger elastic band strap goes on the bottom and wraps around the seat. I noticed that the snaps are very small and I had a little trouble trying to open them (and I have small hands). However, once you open them and wrap them around your seat and lock them, you shouldn't need to take them off unless you need to wash it. The bottom elastic was just barely long enough to wrap around my Hyundai Tucson seat, but it did work. Once the Auto Seat Back Protector was completely on I noticed that it stayed flush against my seat back. I was afraid that it would be loose and dangle at the bottom. It stayed perfectly taught to my seat back. When I put Sophia (the kicker) in the back the first thing she did was kick it with her foot to point it out and ask me what it was. Of course her shoe left a mark and I grabbed a damp towel to see if it would come off easily. It did. It came off with just a swipe of the towel and no scrubbing. I think I'm going to have to get a second one for my other seat back. Cool product Dot&Dot.
I was selected to test out Poppy Austin - Revitalizing Eye Cream to help brighten up my eyes. The product claims to "de-puff" the delicate surface underneath your eyes as well as lighten the dark circles. The Revitalizing Eye Cream also claims to have naturally derived and organic (72%) ingredients. They don't test their products out on animals and "The Poppy Austin philosophy is simple. To prevent the signs of aging by using only the finest, most ethically sourced cosmetics, produced in exact accordance with Poppy’s Code*. Some of the key ingredients include Green Tea, Organic Aloe, Grapeseed Oil, organic Jojoba Oil and Vitamins E and C. Needless to say I was very excited to have the opportunity to try this product out. I'm always a fan of products that have more than 50% natural or organic products, that don't do animal testing and that are paraban and silicone free. When my Poppy Austin - Revitalizing Eye Cream came in I immediately ran into my master bath to wash my face. After washing and drying my face I applied one pump to use under both of my eyes. The first thing I noticed was the single pump sent out a generous amount of product. The cream was thick and creamy like a "cream" should be. Compared to most eye creams this one didn't seem to have a watered down base product. It was dense and went on my skin smoothly. The smell was light and didn't seem to affect my sensitivity to smells. I noticed when I applied it that it felt similar to putting on a primer. It didn't feel greasy, but it had a velvet-like texture that was nice. The Revitalizing Eye Cream seemed to tighten up my skin just a little bit as it was drying. It never felt like it was drying up my skin though, if anything it definitely felt more hydrated. The product label and directions claim that you can put your make-up on top of the Revitalizing Eye Cream. I can absolutely say that that holds true. After about 2 minutes of applying this product I put my foundation on and a powder on. I've found that some eye creams and moisturizers roll up or flake off once I begin to add my foundation. This product truly did act almost like a primer in the sense that it made the rest of my foundation feel like velvet. Later in the day I noticed that Poppy Austin's Revitalizing Eye Cream didn't change the way that my make-up lasted. My make-up stayed in place all day without feeling more greasy. When I washed my face at night I used one pump again as the directions suggest. Normally I wake up with dark circles under my eyes, but they were visibly lighter with just one day of using the Revitalizing Eye Cream. I was a little surprised because I've used eye creams before and it has always taken a few days to a week to see any difference. This product is listed for $35.55 on their website and it's a pretty standard price for an eye cream. If it holds up as well as it did in the one day use then I would say it is well worth the price. I'm hoping that these results last as I use this product more and more. I'm thankful to have been given the opportunity to try this product out because I had never heard of Poppy Austin before. They have a variety of products and I'm looking to try out a few more on their list. I'm a sucker for a good toner and they have a Rose Water that is 100% pure and organic. I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers. I was recently asked to try out the 2 Majestic Bombay - Professional Stainless Steel Cuticle Pusher and Nail Cleaner Tool. I wasn't sure what to expect since I thought these tools were all the same. I've always bought my cuticle pushers from CVS or Walgreens and I just buy what's on sale. I mean they all do the same thing, right? I told my friend Stephanie that I was doing a review on this product and she cringed. I asked why she cringed and she said "because I always cut myself when I try doing it at home". The more I got to thinking about it, I always nipped myself once or twice each time I did it too. At this point I was nervous about doing the review because I was afraid that I would end up cutting myself during it. When I received the Professional Stainless Steel Cuticle Pusher and Nail Cleaner Tool the first thing I noticed what it was much heavier than the ones that I usually buy. The large end was flat instead of curved like I'm used to and the small end was sharp, but rounded enough to feel almost smoother (not sure if that makes sense). So I started on my left hand because I wanted to feel more comfortable using my dominant hand to hold the tool. The first thing that I noticed was the weight of the Professional Stainless Steel Cuticle Pusher and Nail Cleaner Tool actually helped with my control of the tool. I noticed that it rolled over my nail smoothly and only scraped at the cuticle. It didn't seem to scratch through the nail itself and it never slipped and hit my skin. NO CUTS! YAY! When I started to use the small rounded end on the corners of my nails and down the sides, I found it had the same fluid feel. It didn't poke into the side of my nail bed and it only scraped the cuticle. I ended up having to use the small end on my pinky because the flat side was a little to wide to handle my pinky, but other then that it was PERFECT! Now I completely see a difference in the convenient store brand compared to a sturdy more professional brand product. I'm definitely a firm believer that with the RIGHT tool you can have a professional look done at home. Well worth the $8.00 in my opinion. You could never have convinced me that there would be a difference until now. Way to go 2 Majestic Bombay, Way to go! I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers. Being a regular soda drinker I've always wondered about the ingredients harming my teeth and body. I typically get headaches about 3-4 times a week and I'm always listening to friends and family tell me that it's the aspartame in my diet soda. While I'm pretty careful about the processed food that I take into my body I felt like I should do some research and see what changes I could make. I started with cutting out soda all together and that lasted about two weeks before I realized that I hadn't had a good night sleep during those two weeks because I was drinking more coffee throughout the day. Then I tried to cut down the coffee and I started getting dehydrated because I wasn't interested in drinking enough water. It didn't take long to realize that I'm better off drinking soda rather than be a grumpy, tired girl. My friend Stephanie introduced me to SodaStream. I've seen these things on TV before, but I've never used one or tried the soda from one. SodaStream is a machine that allows you to carbonate water and add the flavoring that you like to customize it to your own taste. When they promote this product on TV they talk about how much money you'll save, how you're waste consumption will go down and about the more natural ingredients that they use in their syrups.
The next thing I did was pick out my flavoring. Because I'm trying to stay away from aspartame I decided to pick flavors that were sweetened with Stevia or Agave. I decided to use the Stur product line, which has a lot of fruit flavors. I squirt it a couple of times into the bottle, but I realized that I needed a lot of the syrup to sweeten it. After my drink was sweetened I poured a glass and enjoyed. I will say that the carbonation in this drink is stronger than most soft drinks. The flavor was a little on the weak side, but that could be because I was trying to go with a more natural approach. Either way I decided that I like the SodaStream and I'm planning on using it to curb my cravings for diet soda and aspartame. Maybe now some of my headaches will go away.
Seriously ladies! This product line is outstanding! I can't get enough of it. I started with the trial set which allowed me to try the following products. Kit Contains: - .8oz Citrus Kombucha Cleansing Gel - .5oz Kombucha Enzyme Exfoliating Peel - 1oz Aloe + Willow Bark Pore Minimizer - .4oz Acai + White Tea Oil-Free Moisturizer - .4oz Clear Overnight Recovery Cream After falling in love with the overnight recovery cream and the bark pore minimizer I had to find out what other products they offered. My new "GO TO" facial moisturizer is the Clarifying BB Oil Control Beauty Balm. I put it on after washing my face at night and again before I put make-up on in the morning. I noticed that my face was softer and more full of life within the first week of use. Typically a tube of this will last me 3 months and it's only about $20.00 a tube. Another amazing product from the Andalou Naturals line is their Age Defining Toner. It works great for keeping your skin clean and clear of black heads and other disgusting oils. The ingredients are less aggressive then most toners and you won't find that it dries out your skin nearly as much as big name brands. Having a toner that has too much acidic ingredients will absolutely ruin your skin cells and dry out your face more then its suppose too. Stick to all natural ingredients when you're putting a product on your face that you aren't planning on washing off. I usually use the toner after I've washed my face and then later I add the BB oil control cream after using the toner. If I haven't mentioned it before all of the products that I've used from Andalou have smelled amazing! Fruity, citrus, crisp and clean smelling. If you're wondering why I didn't go into details about the other products in the trial kit it was because I don't normally use those types of products in my facial regimen. My routine consists of a Clarisonic facial wash, toner and then my BB cream. This is going to get a little personal so bare with me ladies. As you all know I’m not a saint and I do have premarital sex, however I’m engaged and I deem it okay. This being said I have recently began birth control for the first time in my life. I studied it as much as I thought I could and I knew which one fit my needs. Number one need… I need it to work. No unplanned pregos around here. Number two… I’m busy and I forget shit, so let’s find something easy. Number three… weight gain isn’t an option in my book, so the least amount of weight gain PLEASE. All this being said I found that the Nuvaring would be my best choice. I spoke with my physician and got a prescription and began using it right away. First order of business, this thing was a pain in the vagina to put in. I mean instructions are one thing, but actually following them is downright laughable. After a few days I noticed that it burned down there. Not like an itchy burning feeling, but like a chemical burn. Being that I enjoy sex and I figured I could wait it out I did. A couple days later that feeling went away, however the hunger came on. Holy cow I couldn’t stop eating. Within 3 weeks I had put on almost 10 pounds, which I am STILL trying to work off. (And thanks to Visalus shakes I’m doing quite well, thank you) Okay back on topic… serious weight gain ladies. Next came the attitude change which I thought was because of the weight gain. You know how we ladies get... we gain some weight and we become agitated with ourselves and take it out on the closest man around. Not to mention a complete lack of sex drive. I’m beginning to think that the way the Nuvaring works is to keep you from being interested in sex. Just thinking about it made me sick to my stomach (sorry babe, if you’re reading this I love you and it wasn’t my fault). It’s no wonder they have such a high rating for success with this product. I kept thinking well I’ve only made it a month with this birth control and I should really try and let the Nuvaring work just a little longer. I should have known when my mood had changed and the lack of a sex drive came along to jump ship. Towards the end of month two I started having abnormal thoughts. Please keep in mind that I just got engaged to this amazing man during the Nuvaring tryouts and I’m really excited to be planning a wedding for May 2013. So I shouldn’t be stressed or upset because it’s far off and everything is going great, right? Yeah that’s what I thought. I would cry at the drop of a hat, blame everything on myself and my fiancé, fight with him constantly over the stupidest shit. I started becoming a more aggressive driver and completely impatient over everything. I seriously began to think that Sven and I would break up because I would start so much trouble with him. My breaking point was when I packed up my stuff and left the house expecting never to go back. Keep in mind I own the house. That’s just by default right now, I’m sure WE’LL own a house once we sell this one and get married. Either way my head wasn’t in the right place. So now I have all my stuff and I drive to a movie theater and just sit there for HOURS contemplating suicide. SERIOUSLY! By the way, these thoughts had occurred to me on a whim here and there over the past 4 weeks, but I didn’t actually recognize the problem. Once I was sitting in the car for hours and I started to graphically picture myself doing something physically wrong to my body I started to think about all the moments leading up to this part of my life. It dawned on me that I haven’t felt like this since I was in high school and it must be some sort of medicine I’m taking. The only medication I’m on is Nuvaring so I started looking it up. Of course I only found the GOOD information that they want you to see on the first 2 pages of Google. Then I tried typing Nuvaring thought of suicide and HOLY SHIT!!! There was a boat load of pages of women with every symptom that I had including the way of suicide. Not one woman mentioned taking pills or using a gun, every woman explained that they pictured cutting themselves to do it. I’m sorry for the description, but I feel that if the drug companies aren’t going to warn you of such monstrosity that I’m going to have to do it. There was page after page of women with major medical problems and depression after using Nuvaring and the health problems that occurred while they were on it. Blood clots, weight gain, breathing problems and depression were the main problems listed. Many of the women that took the Nuvaring out said they started to feel better just after a couple of days, so of course I took my out and I’m only on day 1 without it. I have a doctor’s appointment on Monday and I will tell her all about my issues and see if we can’t find something better. For any woman on the Nuvaring with similar suicidal thoughts or depression PLEASE talk to your doctor immediately. Don’t do something irreversible. I’m embarrassed to think that I didn’t see the symptoms earlier, but that might just be some of the hormones still inside my system because there is no reason for me to have been embarrassed. Later more and more companies carried their own line of miner make-up to compete with the larger ones. The selection of colors were limitless and they lasted longer than the pressed make-up. As make-up changes and people become more demanding you’re going to notice a larger selection of Green products. Now you can start to see a dribble in the market with organic and green wise products. Soon this boom will blow up and we’ll all be using products on our bodies that will enhance our looks instead of detracting over time. The organic products out there today are a bit expensive, but when you think about where it’s going it’s kinda worth it. I mean the skin is your largest organ in your body and it’s the first thing that people see. You want to take care of it and know that you’re putting something on it that’s going to be natural and organic, right? I’ve tried a lot of the organic products out there and some are better than others. Physicians Formula is a good one to try. They have a line called Organic Wear which is basically 100% free of anything that would be harmful to your skin. The packaging is cool, but for me I like simple packaging and this wasn’t it. I broke off the tip of the mascara within the first two weeks of buying it because I threw it carelessly in my make-up travel kit. Then there’s Suki which has a nice line of moisturizers, cleansers and make-up, but they’re very expensive. I don’t mind paying about $8 to $10 dollars more for all natural organic products but $20 or $30 dollars more is a little out of my league. I’ve found a website called Organicbeautynow.com that has a lot of product lines well within my budget and they have a 60 day money back guarantee. I’ve also found that their prices are reasonable and the color choices are larger than other brands and websites. They even have a try before you buy program. The program allows you to pick out 3 sample products and pay only $5.00 for shipping to check the items out. I highly recommend this if you are looking for a new organic foundation or eye shadow. This is a great way for people to see if they like a product or if it wears off too quickly for them. You’ll notice that with organic products you’re not going to find that products have much of a scent to them. They don’t add any fake fragrances or bleach to whiten moisturizers more. Products like these use the highest quality ingredients and they aren’t tested on animals. Rock on with mother nature! Oh and to get your free samples it’s kinda tricky. You have to call or email them to get this great deal. That’s organic for you. So, check out organic make-up before your skin falls off. Just kidding! |
