The package arrived just in time for me to charge it up and take a business trip. When my product came in I thought the packaging was clean and modern and perfect for retail. The window allowed me to see the +Lifeguard Mini 1 Portable Charger in the window and which devices it works for labeled on the back. When I opened it I noticed that it came with two input/output wires. One wire was for devices that use a micro mini USB and the second is for the lightening speed apple approved charger. It also came with the +Lifeguard Mini 1 Portable Charger itself. The portable charger was really heavy and you can tell that it's a sturdy unit. I noticed that some people said it was light in their reviews, but I've owned these portable chargers before and this is by far the heaviest. I don't feel like that's a bad thing unless you're going somewhere where you have to hold it the whole time. Most of the time I hook up my phone to a charger and drop it in my purse.
I was recently asked to do a product review on the +Lifeguard Mini 1 Portable Charger. I mean seriously... don't we all need an extra charger for all of our many devices? Now a days people own more than one chargeable electronic device in their lives. It isn't hard to believe that many people need a product like this for emergencies. I also noticed that the +Lifeguard Mini 1 Portable Charger was labeled really well and it made it easy to figure out how to charge it up. I ended up charging it overnight to make sure it was fully charged. When I plugged it in, the light on it was glowing orange. When I came back in to check on it I noticed that the light was off. I read the directions and realized that the orange light turns off when it's fully charged. I find this odd because when I plugged it back in for a second the light turned on again, which led me to believe that it wasn't charged. I would have like to have seen a button that you could push to see how much charge is left on the device. Other units have this feature. When I plugged my Samsung Galaxy S3 into the +Lifeguard Mini 1 Portable Charger it started on 20% battery. The light on the portable charger lit up blue when it was plugged into my phone. I checked it on the 15 minute mark and it was at 30%. It ended up taking almost 2 hours for my phone to be fully charged. Honestly I didn't think that it was very fast, but it was nice to have my phone fully charged after a long day of meetings. The next day I needed to use the +Lifeguard Mini 1 Portable Charger again and when I plugged it into my phone it kept showing a lightening bolt on my battery of my phone. Usually this means that it isn't recognizing the unit as being a battery/charger. However, after 15 minutes I did notice that it was charging my phone. Unfortunately the +Lifeguard Mini 1 Portable Charger ran out of the original charge within 30 minutes of it being plugged it. I was a little surprised to find out that the unit only carries enough to charge my phone 1 to 1.5 times. Some units can carry enough juice to charge my phone 2 or more times. For the price of under $25.00 I feel that the +Lifeguard Mini 1 Portable Charger is a pretty good unit. The other units that I've had have cost me anywhere from $70 - $100.00, so I think the price is going to be the best part of this product. If you're looking for a product that can withstand traveling or you need a heavy duty charger, the +Lifeguard Mini 1 Portable Charger would be a good choice. You can purchase yours on Amazon.

Recently I was asked to do a review on a Zen Cell Phone Car Holder by SF Enterprises. They sent me a free unit to try out in my car. There are almost 7 billion cell phone owners in the world and over 1 billion automobile owners. I find it ridiculous that an automobile manufacturer hasn't come up with a way to hold cell phones to make it convenient for the driver. Maybe even make it far enough away that they can't text while driving. In the meantime, SF Enterprises came up with a super simple, portable, sturdy and universal way to hold your cell phone in the car. Typically I put my cell phone in the door handle of the car or the drink holder (when it's not already filled with a drink). Once I accidentally put my cell phone in my drink thinking that I was just putting it in the cup holder. $300.00 later I told myself I wouldn't make that mistake again. It's fairly easy to run out of convenient places to store your cell phone in the car and I'm glad that the Zen Cell Phone Car Holder was sent to me to try out. The device is really simple and universal from what I can see. I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 and it held my cell phone just fine. The Zen Cell Phone Car Holder uses a spring loaded system that holds your cell phone tight. It has the ability to stretch up to 6" for cell phones with larger cases. If you're planning on using it in a GPS mode and you need to turn the phone sideways, it's as easy as spinning the unit on its side. The rubber grip makes it easy to slide onto the grates on the vent in your car. You can adjust the vent to aim the phone towards you or away from you. While I found the design and packaging and ease of use to be great with the Zen Cell Phone Car Holder, the only flaw that I found was you won't be able to receive the air (hot or cold) from the vent that has the Cell phone holder. While the holder itself doesn't block much of the air, having a larger cell phone would make it nearly impossible for air to pass by it and I can't imagine it would be good for the phone to have hot or cold air pushing straight at it. I would suggest turning the vent off if you plan on using this device. I really like this device and for the price it definitely saves me from a big expense like messing up a new phone. You can purchase the Zen Cell Phone Car Holder on Amazon with 100% satisfaction guaranteed.
I was asked to try out the True Skin Care Soothing Eye Gel and they gave me a free full size bottle. The first thing I noticed was it came in a unique pump style bottle with very professional packaging. Most of the eye serums that I've tried have come in an eye dropper style bottle and it was refreshing to have an easy pump style. True Skin Care Soothing Eye Gel uses cucumber and aloe to help relieve swelling under eyes and to help eliminate dark circles. They also use glycyrrhiza glabra root extract which is also known as licorice. When this part of the licorice root is used in skin care it acts as an anti-inflammatory and soothing anti-irritant. Many people with a condition called Rosacea use licorice to help lessen the pink tone in their skin. I love that True Skin Care Soothing Eye Gel uses the licorice because I haven't seen it in many eye serums and gels before. When I first used the True Skin Care Soothing Eye Gel I made sure to wash my face and use my toner before application. This gave me a completely clean canvas to work on. I will say that my skin is very sensitive and it made my skin blush in the areas of application while it was still wet. Once it dries I could see that the blushing had gone away and I could begin to feel it tightening on my face. It almost felt like a little face lift or something. (Not that I've had a face lift, but it just felt more firm). I used the True Skin Care Soothing Eye Gel in the morning while I was getting ready for work. After the gel had dried on my face I added my moisturizer and went on to put my makeup on. I didn't notice anything different with how my makeup was applied or how long it lasted. When I took my makeup off at night I noticed that normally I have dark circles under my eyes after a long day and after the first use they weren't really visible. I ended up washing my face and applying some more eye gel before I went to bed. The blushing effect happened again, but no irritation or anything. I can see that the True Skin Care Soothing Eye Gel is a good product and it would work easily with almost any skin regime. I like that the company is small and that the product is made in the USA. The only thing that I would like to see is a percentage of how much of the product is natural and organic. Other than that I think this product does the job that it says it does and for the price it's a good buy. Check it out on Amazon by clicking here. True Skin Care is offering $10.00 off to my readers by using the code TRUEFORU on Amazon. this code will be good until January 23, 2015. I was recently sent an iPad Car Headrest Mount Holder for free from Evergreen Tech in return for an honest review. While I was very excited about the possibilities of this product I was disappointed with the results. I hate leaving bad reviews and I did my best to work out every kink I could with this product. I even went so far to email the company and ask them why they made a specific seam on the strap when other solutions would have worked better. Their answer was it pretty much blown off as it works fine and I should be able to use it as is. Here is what I can tell you about the iPad Car Headrest Mount Holder from Evergreen Tech product... the quality is there and the need for the product is there but the execution is less than mediocre. The so called back flap that works as a stand is very weak and would in no way be able to hold up an iPad2, iPad3 or iPad4 as it suggests. Once I put the iPad in the holder I found that it was almost impossible to pull it out without worrying about breaking the screen on the iPad. However, there are holes that are situated perfectly for earphones, charger and for the speakers which is very helpful. The iPad Car Headrest Mount Holder from Evergreen Tech claims that it fits most headrests or the bars underneath the headrest. Here is what I can tell you about this part of the design. It sucks. Okay, no really... they have good quality materials but they designed it all wrong. The strap that is used to wrap around "most" headrests is a high quality strap that typically can handle a lot of pull/weight. They attached this strap through two very sturdy buckles/loops. Unfortunately they designed the strap to go on the back of the holder and sewed it into the sides of the leather instead of just attaching it in some way to the buckle. Then they added a hook and loop system to hold the strap securely around the headrest or headrest bars. What they should have done is used the same amount of elastic band and instead of sewing it into the sides of the leather, they should have sewed it onto itself around the silver plated buckle on each side. This would have given this product almost 8 - 10 inches more pull around virtually any headrest. It would have also made it more user friendly for attaching it to other objects if needed. What about strapping it around the bars? Well, if you're looking to strap it around the bars of the headrest first things first you have to raise your headrest. Your headrest is in your car for safety reasons, NOT for decoration. If you have a high set headrest than I will admit that this holder will securely strap around the bars, but it will typically be at an angle where any short person or child in the back may not be able to clearly see the screen as it will be angled upwards in most vehicles. If you have your headrest set low than the elastic strap won't fit properly and it will make the iPad Car Headrest Mount Holder less secure or even loose. The unique elastic strap being sewn into the leather also makes the so called flap/stand difficult to use. While the idea of the iPad Car Headrest Mount Holder from Evergreen Tech is a good idea the product was executed poorly in my opinion. Hopefully if they decide to make one for the iPad mini or any smaller units they'll take the comments that I've made and use them on their next design. They can contact me for payment on this idea and I can walk them through it. Ohh and just another quick quality control comment while I'm at it. Make sure to punch out the holes for the speaker instead of just cutting them and leaving them filled with the leather. Again, simple stuff to make customers happier. Sorry iPad Car Headrest Mount Holder from Evergreen Tech I know you won't believe me when I say that I really don't like leaving bad reviews, but I do leave HONEST reviews!
As most of my viewers know I will typically post a product link on my website to purchase the item that I'm reviewing. I don't feel comfortable doing so with this product. I was asked to do a review for the Naturalico Vitamin C & E Serum. Unlike most Vitamin C Serums this one has vitamin E as well. Vitamin E can help block free radicals which can slow down the look of aging. When used properly it can help reduce the sign of lines and age spots. Most eye serums don't use vitamin E because it has a thicker consistency and can sometimes feel greasy. The benefits of using a serum with vitamin E don't rest at making your skin look youthful, but it can also improve the look of dry skin, reduce the look of scars and it can help with hair growth if used in other forms. While I love that the Naturalico Eye Serum has both vitamin C & E in it, it really only works best at night because of the vitamin E. I found that when I used the product under my makeup it caused my foundation powders to flake throughout the day. I also found my skin to feel a little more greasy than normal. Although I don't feel that this product should be used in the day underneath makeup I do feel that this product is potent enough to use at night after you wash your face. I began using the product after washing my face and patting it dry. I used a few drops underneath both eyes and up towards the outside of my brow bone. Then I would add my moisturizer to the rest of my face. After a few days of using Naturalico Vitamin C & E I noticed that my crows feet weren't as obvious and I had little to no dark circles under my eyes. I also noticed that my eyes looked brighter when I'd apply makeup the next day. It definitely has some wonderful benefits if you continually use the product. The Naturalico Eye Serum product comes in a tinted bottle to keep sun light out so it won't jeopardize the quality of the product inside the bottle. The eye dropper is easy to use and it helps keep the air out. I typically use a few drops in between two fingers and I massage the product in a circular motion under my eyes. Try not to pull too hard on your skin because over time this area loses elasticity and the pulling can create more loose skin or bags under your eyes. If you're worried about pulling the skin try patting the product on gently with a makeup sponge. The Naturalico Vitamin C & E Serum says that it uses Pure 98% Natural 72% Organic ingredients. The use only the finest of natural ingredients like pure sea buckthorn oil, organic hyaluronic acid and organic rosehip oil are included in our revolutionary formula. The Naturalico Eye Serum is made in the USA and you can find it on Amazon for about $19.00 for a 1 ounce bottle. I figure with a few drops under each eye and with only applying once a day this bottle should last me about 3 months. That's not too bad considering I really did notice a difference in the brightness of my skin. Check it out for yourself. I was asked to do a review on the Reach it Grab it product and in doing so they would give me the product free of charge in return for an honest review. When I received the Reach it Grab it product I noticed that the packaging was very minimal, probably because the product is pretty self explanatory. If you can't reach something this tool will be that extra long arm to help reach it for you. Being that I'm only 5'4" and there are plenty of cupboards in my house that are above my head this seemed like a perfect tool to try out. There are plenty of items that I can't reach without grabbing a step stool or climbing on the counter to try and retrieve them. I looked over the Reach it Grab it product and I noticed that the handle and trigger were very sturdy. The claw part of the Reach it Grab it had a rubber grip that made it almost slip proof for most items. The Reach it Grab it was as easy as finding something too high for me to reach with my own hands and using the claw to grasp the item and pull it down. I tried reaching for a few items and I noticed that the heavier the item the less the rubber grip seemed to hold onto the item. For instance, it worked perfectly well on an empty sports drink cup that I store above my stove, but it didn't work as well when trying to get a Glade air freshener container off of a ledge in my bathroom. Although I know I may need some practice at using the Reach it Grab it I still feel that it's safe to say you should be careful. If an elderly person is getting this tool to reach a towel from above their reach or a pillow then this is the absolute perfect tool. Don't expect the Reach it Grab it tool to be a safe mechanism to reach an encyclopedia from the top shelf or even a half empty bottle of laundry detergent. If the item you're lifting off the shelf could hurt you if you dropped it I would suggest not using this tool. As for items that are light and non breakable then I would say that the Reach it Grab it is the perfect tool for the job. This is the best review I can give this product and I hope my HONEST opinion will help you decide if this tool is right for you. I was asked to try out the new Garcinia Cambogia with 85% HCA Complex and see if it worked for me. What I noticed about the product was that it has 85% HCA Complex and each capsule is 750mg. Normally with most Garcinia Cambogia you'll find that it only has about 60 - 70% and the capsules have about 500 - 800mg. Summit Nutritions made their Garcinia Cambogia by using a patented process to extract only from the natural source (Not synthesized in lab) by using natural water(Scientifically Developed Patented Extraction Method), a traditional Ayurveda method by eliminating the use of harsh solvent like alcohol, acetone etc. Why does this matter? Well, for starters sometimes solvents and alcohol can change the makeup of the natural ingredients which can then change how they respond and interact with your body. By keeping the product in its most natural form and extracting through methods without using chemicals or harsh drying processes it allows them to deliver a more pure product. While I already like the process in which they deliver the product this company has some other high points. The Garcinia Cambogia is a natural source of calcium, they don't use artificial ingredients,no GMO, no binders, no fillers, no sugar and it's gluten free. They claim that this product is 100% maximum strength and they have a satisfaction guarantee on their packaging and website. I began taking the Garcinia Cambogia before breakfast and I noticed that it didn't have much of an odor like some of the pills I've taken. They claim that it gives you energy and I will admit that I had a boast of energy after about an hour of taking the pill. It didn't last long, but on the up side it wasn't the jittery type of energy that caffeine gives you. My appetite was pretty much the same throughout the first day. I made sure to take the pills as directed before each meal. It wasn't until the third day that I noticed a difference in my appetite. My appetite for breakfast was still as strong as ever, but I felt fuller throughout the day and I noticed that I wasn't as hungry for lunch and sometimes dinner. Although I did lose a couple of pounds in two weeks I would say that is pretty standard for the type of exercise and diet that I'm working on. The Garcinia Cambogia may have been a factor in that weight loss just based on the lack of interest in meals, but it never killed any cravings for specific foods like some pills can do. This pill is meant to help block fat and help with your appetite which it seemed to do what it's supposed to do (for me). The only draw backs that I had with taking the Garcinia Cambogia is remembering to take a pill 30 minutes before I ate and I noticed that it produced a lot of bad tasting burps. To be clear... the burping wasn't because of a change in my diet or because of carbonated drinks. The burping definitely started after taking the pills, but they only lasted for about 30 minutes or so. If the weight continues to drop and my appetite continues to lessen then I won't be concerned at all about some tiny burps. I will continue to take the Garcinia Cambogia and update you on my weight loss progress. If you're looking to purchase this product please visit the Amazon links below. I was selected to test out Poppy Austin - Revitalizing Eye Cream to help brighten up my eyes. The product claims to "de-puff" the delicate surface underneath your eyes as well as lighten the dark circles. The Revitalizing Eye Cream also claims to have naturally derived and organic (72%) ingredients. They don't test their products out on animals and "The Poppy Austin philosophy is simple. To prevent the signs of aging by using only the finest, most ethically sourced cosmetics, produced in exact accordance with Poppy’s Code*. Some of the key ingredients include Green Tea, Organic Aloe, Grapeseed Oil, organic Jojoba Oil and Vitamins E and C. Needless to say I was very excited to have the opportunity to try this product out. I'm always a fan of products that have more than 50% natural or organic products, that don't do animal testing and that are paraban and silicone free. When my Poppy Austin - Revitalizing Eye Cream came in I immediately ran into my master bath to wash my face. After washing and drying my face I applied one pump to use under both of my eyes. The first thing I noticed was the single pump sent out a generous amount of product. The cream was thick and creamy like a "cream" should be. Compared to most eye creams this one didn't seem to have a watered down base product. It was dense and went on my skin smoothly. The smell was light and didn't seem to affect my sensitivity to smells. I noticed when I applied it that it felt similar to putting on a primer. It didn't feel greasy, but it had a velvet-like texture that was nice. The Revitalizing Eye Cream seemed to tighten up my skin just a little bit as it was drying. It never felt like it was drying up my skin though, if anything it definitely felt more hydrated. The product label and directions claim that you can put your make-up on top of the Revitalizing Eye Cream. I can absolutely say that that holds true. After about 2 minutes of applying this product I put my foundation on and a powder on. I've found that some eye creams and moisturizers roll up or flake off once I begin to add my foundation. This product truly did act almost like a primer in the sense that it made the rest of my foundation feel like velvet. Later in the day I noticed that Poppy Austin's Revitalizing Eye Cream didn't change the way that my make-up lasted. My make-up stayed in place all day without feeling more greasy. When I washed my face at night I used one pump again as the directions suggest. Normally I wake up with dark circles under my eyes, but they were visibly lighter with just one day of using the Revitalizing Eye Cream. I was a little surprised because I've used eye creams before and it has always taken a few days to a week to see any difference. This product is listed for $35.55 on their website and it's a pretty standard price for an eye cream. If it holds up as well as it did in the one day use then I would say it is well worth the price. I'm hoping that these results last as I use this product more and more. I'm thankful to have been given the opportunity to try this product out because I had never heard of Poppy Austin before. They have a variety of products and I'm looking to try out a few more on their list. I'm a sucker for a good toner and they have a Rose Water that is 100% pure and organic. I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers. Being a regular soda drinker I've always wondered about the ingredients harming my teeth and body. I typically get headaches about 3-4 times a week and I'm always listening to friends and family tell me that it's the aspartame in my diet soda. While I'm pretty careful about the processed food that I take into my body I felt like I should do some research and see what changes I could make. I started with cutting out soda all together and that lasted about two weeks before I realized that I hadn't had a good night sleep during those two weeks because I was drinking more coffee throughout the day. Then I tried to cut down the coffee and I started getting dehydrated because I wasn't interested in drinking enough water. It didn't take long to realize that I'm better off drinking soda rather than be a grumpy, tired girl. My friend Stephanie introduced me to SodaStream. I've seen these things on TV before, but I've never used one or tried the soda from one. SodaStream is a machine that allows you to carbonate water and add the flavoring that you like to customize it to your own taste. When they promote this product on TV they talk about how much money you'll save, how you're waste consumption will go down and about the more natural ingredients that they use in their syrups.
The next thing I did was pick out my flavoring. Because I'm trying to stay away from aspartame I decided to pick flavors that were sweetened with Stevia or Agave. I decided to use the Stur product line, which has a lot of fruit flavors. I squirt it a couple of times into the bottle, but I realized that I needed a lot of the syrup to sweeten it. After my drink was sweetened I poured a glass and enjoyed. I will say that the carbonation in this drink is stronger than most soft drinks. The flavor was a little on the weak side, but that could be because I was trying to go with a more natural approach. Either way I decided that I like the SodaStream and I'm planning on using it to curb my cravings for diet soda and aspartame. Maybe now some of my headaches will go away.
